Building awareness of this organisation in local media was really a start from scratch job, as little had been done over the Foundation’s 20-year history. so I set to work, with camera and laptop to start shouting our triumphs from the rooftops and raising awareness of how our communities could take action on the existential crises of climate change and biodiversity loss. Working with local media has been fantastic and inspired this blog.

Achieving this has involved educating and mentoring board colleagues, executive and team members on some of the essentials for good media relations - clear strategy, consistent core messages, strong storylines and, especially for local media, good quality, well-composed pictures capturing people and events.
